Heavy Civil Bridge Construction Superintendent

STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is recruiting for a Construction Superintendent to support our Heavy Civil operations headquartered in Fort Worth, TX. We are kicking off a bridge project in Mobile, AL that is expected to run about 2.5 years. Projects typically include large post-tensioned bridges, cable-stayed bridges, bridge inspections and repairs, and bridge lifting and lowering. Responsibilities

Working closely with Project Managers, Division Managers, and other leaders within VSL. Oversee and manage overall project safety and provide leadership to the Company’s Safety 24/7 culture. Lead pre-project and pre-task planning activities with CM’s & PM’s, then disseminate planning details to field teams. Motivate team members to work together to accomplish tasks, coordinate work activities with other construction project activities, and assign work to employees based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs. Ensure crews are operating tools and equipment in a safe, proper, and productive manner. Provide training and assistance to field managers and crews in the performance of work-related tasks. Assist Project Managers in evaluating production rates related to the project. Complete essential paperwork in a clear and accurate manner. Interview and hire new field employees. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field may be preferred. Prior experience in heavy civil and bridge construction projects; CIP & Precast Segmental Erection, Cable Stay installation and post-tensioning experience is a plus. Ability to travel and relocate to projects for extended durations. Experience running multiple projects simultaneously (size/complexity dependent). Proven ability to manage field managers and oversee divisional field operations; hands-on work will be required. Ability to read, interpret, and execute construction drawings and contract specifications; resolve discrepancies as needed. Commitment to safety and operating principles. Ability to produce look-ahead schedules and work with construction documents as required. Strong communication with customers, crews, and project teams. Intermediate computer and construction math skills. Bi-lingual English & Spanish is a plus. Benefits and Company Culture
