Lexington’s Intern Program is intended to attract undergraduate and graduate students who are studying Mechanical Engineering, or other related fields. You will be given the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the progress of Lexington and its products, while gaining business acumen and real-world experience which will better prepare you to continue to make impactful contributions throughout your career. Successful candidates will gain hands-on, meaningful experience with mechanical and process design, common manufacturing processes, and engineering testing. This program will give students real-world exposure to product development and manufacturing within the medical device industry. Students will gain experience with regulatory body standards and proper documentation, vital for the continued career of the student. Education
Must be currently attending an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate majoring in Mechanical Engineering, or similar technical disciplines. Timing
January 2026 – June 2026 (6-month Co-Op) Location
Bedford, Massachusetts – This is a fully onsite role, 5 days per week. Experience
Prior internship, co-op, or relevant project experience in engineering or manufacturing is required. We are seeking students entering their senior year (or graduate-level students). Responsibilities
Participate in developing continuous improvements on products and processes. Support new product development through engineering testing and documentation. Support supply chain engineering and sourcing activities. Create and maintain testing protocols, manufacturing procedures, and engineering reports. Create and maintain component drawings in accordance with industry and Lexington Medical standards. Operate Machines with Minimal Supervision
Perform quality checks utilizing various inspection instruments to record data. Operate equipment with minimal supervision. Read and understand work instructions. Additional Responsibilities
Complete and understand documentation needed to comply with Lexington Medical policies. Work in a team environment with strong communication skills. Maintain the safety and cleanliness of equipment and company product. Perform preventative maintenance as required. Strong attention to detail (hint: Answer to the mystery question is 23. Comply with all health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and job hazard assessments applicable to specified job activities including medical evaluations as required by job function.
