Construction Inspectors
in the
Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Pinehurst, Raleigh, and Winston-Salem, NC
areas within our Transportation & Infrastructure division. Successful candidates will support current staff and help expand our Construction Management and CEI practices to serve clients across the state. This role provides unlimited learning opportunities in construction inspection principles, certification acquisition, geographic service expansion, involvement in major transportation projects, and promotes a healthy work-life balance. Join a challenging role at an ENR Top 50 rated firm. The ideal candidate is eager to learn construction inspection and material testing by supporting experienced inspectors. Job Responsibilities
Perform construction inspection activities and assist in highway and bridge construction project administration. Apply safety protocols and work safely outdoors. Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications. Establish engineering controls and inspect construction work. Prepare daily inspection reports. Conduct on-site material testing and sampling. Measure and document completed work. Read and interpret construction plans and technical specifications. Communicate effectively with project staff and clients, both verbally and in writing. Operate basic computer and tablet devices. Assignments will typically involve NCDOT or other roadway and bridge projects, with daily travel required. Candidates must be available to work nights and weekends as needed; overnight travel is limited but possible. Applicants must hold a valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and be capable of lifting 50 pounds, traversing rough terrain, and working outdoors in all weather conditions. Minimum Requirements
No prior construction inspection experience is necessary. A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. Candidates should obtain the following NCDOT certifications within 6 months of employment, at no cost, as scheduling permits: NCDOT/ACI Concrete Field Tech, Grade I QMS Asphalt Roadway Tech Erosion & Sediment Control Level II ABC Sampling Borrow Pit Sampling Conventional Density OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Must be able to perform essential functions safely and consistently.
