Role Summary

The Estimating Engineer 2 will continue learning JE Dunn processes and tools and develop professional skills while assisting with the preparation of cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals. This position will experience many facets of the construction and estimating process to develop an understanding of the building process and how JE Dunn executes projects. All activities will support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn. Autonomy and Decision Making:

Makes decisions on routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor, and refers all exceptions to supervisor. Career Path:

Senior Estimating Engineer Key Role Responsibilities - Core

Estimating Family - Core Performs quantity survey of materials shown on project plans. Reads and outlines project specifications. Maintains an audit trail of the quantity survey from estimate to estimate. Supports vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination. Supports the distribution of plans and specifications to vendors/subcontractors. Works collaboratively and creates relationships with stakeholders such as project team members, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Gains self-perform estimating experience. Gains field operational exposure through onsite project support, as opportunities exist. Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

Estimating Engineer 2 In addition, this position will be responsible for: Preparing basic components of cost estimates for bids and proposals. Soliciting, coordinating, and compiling vendor quotes. Assisting with pricing and tracking value creation items from development through estimate inclusion. Participating in constructability reviews and ensuring estimate integration. Developing scopes of work for trades and analyzing proposals. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to perform work accurately and timely. Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Proficiency in MS Office and construction estimating software. Ability to read drawings and specifications. Knowledge of construction means and methods, trades, and scopes of work. Understanding of Lean processes and philosophy. Ability to build relationships and collaborate within teams. Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of degree. Experience

2+ years of construction experience. Working Environment

Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. May require overnight travel and non-traditional hours. Normal office environment with potential exposure to extreme conditions. Frequent activity: Sitting, viewing screens; occasional activity: standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling. Benefits and Equal Opportunity
