Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, engine electronics, diesel systems, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and related components. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment; inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using hand tools, test instruments, and diagnostics. Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation. Independently manage parts inventory and use company-issued tools and service truck; perform safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide information, resolve issues, and manage expectations. Manage concurrent tasks with prioritization and effective time management. Document work according to company standards, including photos of work performed, parts used, and RO findings using the TRAIT application on an iOS device; complete DOT forms promptly. Obtain parts from approved vendors and seek approvals on repair estimates and purchase orders when needed. Follow safety, health, and environmental policies and comply with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Requirements
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or 5 years in a related field. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform duties. Obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Must pass a DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; DOT medical card acceptable in lieu if valid for more than four months. Be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority; valid driver's license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File. Certifications
ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months. Preferred: ASE T3 (Drivetrain), T4 (Brakes), T5 (Suspension), T6 (Electrical & Electronics), T7 (HVAC), T8/609 as applicable. Skills & Abilities
Strong problem-solving with logical reasoning for evaluating alternatives. Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and perform moderately heavy labor; long periods of standing and repetitive tasks. Effective written and verbal communication; ability to convey information succinctly and engage with customers and team members. Ability to select appropriate tools and equipment; assess distances and use judgment to diagnose issues. Ability to work independently and manage daily schedule; maintain productivity within standard repair times. Benefits
