Arrowhead Orthopaedics . The position requires available work approximately forty hours per week with flexibility in schedule. The employee will be expected to work no more than five days per week. Hours, pay scale, and benefits will be defined as agreed upon. Under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy, the Physical Therapy Assistant shall provide all responsibilities necessary for the successful operation of the Physical Therapy Department for Arrowhead Orthopaedics.

Responsibilities

Work is primarily performed in the Physical Therapy Department front office located on the first floor of Seven Oaks Medical Plaza’s offices. The PTA must handle confidential patient care files with privacy, discretion, and professionalism. Contributes to physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physical therapy directives. Assess patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying therapy histories. Assess abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist's interpretations of patient evaluations and test results. Document patient care services in electronic medical record systems. Perform therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises; instructing and assisting patients in performing physical activities (including non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities) and in using supportive devices (crutches, canes, prostheses). Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens; providing wellness and health maintenance information. Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans. Relationships

The employee reports directly to the Director of Physical Therapy and must communicate progress, reports, requests, concerns, problems, and expectations as needed. Interact with other office and clinical staff in a collegial, professional manner contributing to safety and a pleasant work environment. Interact with Doctors, licensed physical therapists, interns, physical therapy aides, and patients while reflecting the office’s commitment to quality care and customer satisfaction. Skill Requirements:

PTA license and CPR certification required. Proficiency with computer use and software programs, preferably Outlook and an Electronic Medical Record system. Proper phone etiquette and professional communication skills are required. Typical Physical Demands:

Requires sitting and walking, daily stooping, reaching, bending; lifting up to thirty pounds; normal hearing for telephone and personal communication; manual dexterity to operate keyboards and office equipment. Job Details
