Texas Military Department The Facility Maintenance Specialist performs advanced (senior-level) maintenance, renovation, restoration and alteration work at National Guard facilities in Region V (Ft Sam Houston), Oversees building repairs, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and air-conditioning work and ensures compliance. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Plans, schedules and oversees building repairs, renovation and restoration projects, preventative maintenance and preventive and facility maintenance. Coordinates and oversees contracting work on repairs and maintenance of facility. Examines structures, evaluates work to be performed and selects best methods of performing maintenance and repair work. Inspects work performed by contractors to ensure that finished projects meet both contracting compliance and adherence to building regulations. Performs maintenance and repairs work such as plumbing, welding, electrical and mechanical work. Performs administrative functions to track progress on contracts and to record requisitions and Planning Resource for Infrastructure Development and Evaluation (PRIDE) web work orders. Qualifications: Background Investigation. Selected candidate must be able to obtain a CAC and/or pass a federal security background investigation. Eligibility to Work in the U.S. The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 requires all new employees to present proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three (3) days of being hired. Sponsorship. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
