Role Overview We are in search of an onsite Mechanical Engineer II who will play a core role in our design efforts of Systems Solutions to exceed customer expectations and achieve strategic and aspirational growth plans while following our values and guiding principles. In this role you will design and coordinate medium-scale engineering designs in a rapidly growing and increasingly central portion of Trystar’s enterprise‑wide business strategy. The successful candidate will be able to create new designs and advise on a course of action on preexisting projects. You will act as a trusted advisor to cross‑functional partners, ensuring that we are on time, adding value beyond what is being requested, and providing the easiest path to a solution in the industry.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee the creation and release of drawings, analysis, test plans, and other mechanical engineering documentation.
Select proper components to be utilized during the construction of the project.
Create new parts and Bills of Material and load them into the ERP system.
Track, support, and report changes to the design.
Provide documentation support to the application engineering team, the sales team, and the estimator team to ensure work product completeness.
Facilitate support of manufacturing/production efforts and challenges.
Provide quote packages, and recommend product changes/improvements to enhance product manufacturability and/or reduce cost.
Implement technical standards in reviews, documentation, and designs.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
Experience working on mechanical systems including sheet metal enclosures, structural systems, and thermal management and/or FEA analysis.
Experience with the design of small to medium system design (electrical enclosures, panel layout, seismic considerations, heat management) within electrical equipment, heavy industry, military sectors, or similar.
Proficiency with major ERP and CAD systems (SolidWorks and AutoCAD).
Working knowledge of industry codes and standards: ASME standards, NEMA, UL, IEC, and other applicable standards.
Proficient in generating and reviewing engineering documentation including BOMs, detailed drawings, tolerance stack‑ups, and GD&T.
Microsoft Office proficiency.
Additional Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast‑paced/high‑growth work environment.
Good understanding of structural and thermal analysis (FEA/CFD tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar).
