Coffman Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Bridge Engineer for employment in our Spokane office. Our primary marketplace is Washington, Oregon, and Idaho with other potential opportunities across the United States. The successful candidate will be independent, self-motivated, energetic team player who is looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm.

This position will assist in managing, designing, and detailing bridge projects of a variety of sizes and complexities. The candidate will have the ability to network with clients of a diverse culture of private, local, state, and federal agencies. The work is predominantly office based. However, some work in the field will be required at times. Working in a variety of environments with the appropriate safety procedures and equipment may include working at heights, confined spaces, near highway vehicle traffic and aerial lift platforms.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing, designing, and detailing bridge projects of various sizes and complexities. Network with clients across private, local, state, and federal agencies. Collaborate with multi-discipline design teams and contribute to project documentation. Adhere to safety procedures and engage in field work as required.

Qualifications

A four-year degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with an emphasis in bridge engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited university Master's Degree in Structural Engineering preferred. Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) 0-3 years of experience Internship in the structural design of bridges and/or buildings and similar structures preferred. Successful completion of structural/bridge engineering coursework (preferred): Prestressed Design, Reinforced Concrete Design, Steel Design, Structural Dynamics or Earthquake Engineering, Foundation Design, Timber Design. Experience with AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications and any Department of Transportation (WSDOT, IDT or ODOT) bridge design, bridge standard details, bridge design manuals or construction standards and protocols (preferred) Experience with computer analysis software systems including AutoCAD, PGSuper, Risa 3D, MathCAD, and Bluebeam Revu (preferred) Experience working as part of a multi-discipline design team (preferred) Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills Self-motivated and eager to learn. Salary and Sponsorship

Expected annual salary of $70,000-$81,000. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
