Construction Manager
will oversee the initiation, planning, and supervision of low voltage and network installation projects for multifamily properties. This role involves managing the construction phase of projects, ensuring the successful deployment of structured cabling, network hardware, and WiFi systems. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to lead on-site teams to deliver high-quality installations on time and within budget. Responsibilities
Project Initiation and Planning: Review contract to provide the Project Manager with project scope, timelines, and tasks for low voltage and network installations. Conduct and coordinate site surveys with contractors to assess existing infrastructure and identify project requirements. Coordinate with stakeholders to develop detailed installation plans, including material and resource needs. Provide complete guidance and direction to selected contractor/installer to ensure 100% complete low voltage, OSP and network installation design. Present complete and QC’ed LV and OSP design to the Engineering Team and provide handoff to Engineering. Contractor Selection and Contract Initiation: Qualify selected contractor bids and present qualified/negotiated bid to Management for approval. Convert bid documentation and Scope of Work into Aerwave Construction Contract and route for execution. Contractor/Installation Management: Conduct pre-construction kickoff meetings, virtually and/or on site, with full ownership of the agenda, submittals processes, job layouts and installation strategy and timeline. Provide all pre-construction “before” photos and site tests to the Project Manager. Oversee all construction and installation activities remotely and at project sites, ensuring adherence to plans, timelines and specifications. Manage contractor adherence to Scope of Work and Schedule, including supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, and vendors. Identify, vet, and onboard contractor resources for project deployments. Train, monitor, and review contractor quality of work, reporting requirements, and general performance. Monitor daily operations to address challenges and maintain project progress. Act as Point of Contact for all work on site. Materials Management: Ensure Project Manager has all key dates for material needs. Ensure vendor contractor has storage location for all active hardware components provided by Aerwave. Ensure contractor takes delivery, confirms inventory, and assumes liability for all active hardware components provided by Aerwave. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure installations comply with industry standards and local codes. Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality and integrity of cabling, fiber optics, and network hardware installations. Maintain accurate records of completed work, inspections, and changes to plans. Safety Management: Enforce adherence to safety protocols and regulations at all project sites. Conduct safety briefings and ensure proper use of equipment. Respond promptly to safety incidents or hazards. Team Coordination and Communication: Serve as the primary management point of contact for project managers, vendor construction supervisors, field engineers/technicians, and client-based construction POCs. Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and milestones. Coordinate with other trades and contractors to avoid delays or conflicts. Construction Resource Management: Ensure Project Manager is aware of all key dates and resource needs to meet project schedule deadlines. Track and report on project costs, identifying and addressing discrepancies. Troubleshooting and Conflict Resolution: Identify and resolve technical or logistical issues during installations. Work with PMO, engineering teams, contractors, and clients to address challenges and proactively implement solutions to keep projects on track. Education/Experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, or related field experience preferred. 7+ years of experience in low voltage and network installation projects in a multi-family environment, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role. Experience with multifamily property projects. Valid Driver's license. Expertise in structured cabling, fiber optics, and network, Wi-Fi, and PtP radio hardware installations. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices (e.g., BICSI, NEC). Familiarity with construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Basic technical RF knowledge. Proficiency with hand tools. Ability to travel up to 80% of the time throughout the United States and flexibility to work extended hours or weekends to meet project deadlines. Proficiency in the use of computer and software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, with preference for design-related applications such as Visio, Bluebeam Revu, Ekahau, AutoCAD. Strong leadership and organizational skills; effective communication and problem-solving abilities; detail-oriented with a focus on quality and deadlines. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
General understanding of low voltage and networking tools and testing equipment (e.g., cable/fiber certifiers, OTDRs, fusion splicers, light meters, RF testing equipment). Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Effective interpersonal skills to work with personnel at all levels, inside and outside the company. Ability to take initiative and work independently; maturity and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications
BICSI Technician Certification or RCDD. OSHA Construction Safety Certification. Related Project Management training/experience. Physical Demands
