Field Service Technician – North East – Fives Intralogistics
NOTE: Residents of Maine (ME), New Hampshire (NH), Vermont (VT), Massachusetts (MA), Connecticut (CT), Rhode Island (RI), New York (NY), Pennsylvania (PA), and Delaware (DE) preferred.
Accountability This position is responsible for providing various demonstration and service requirements on company‑manufactured equipment in various locations under general instructions.
Scope & Responsibilities
Install, demonstrate, qualify, repair, or alter Fives machines (mechanically, electrically, CNC) or associated equipment in customer’s facilities following instructions and documentation.
Operate machines and equipment to demonstrate or qualify equipment, or observe qualification runs conducted by customer personnel, ensuring accuracy and quality meet specifications.
Notify Tech Support or Service Coordinator of deviations or problems, and write complete service reports.
Instruct customer personnel to operate, maintain, and/or repair machines and equipment, emphasizing safety and reporting unsafe practices.
Provide input for product improvement and development.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Work overtime and/or off‑shifts as required by business needs.
Interact with other people routinely and be on the road majority of the time visiting customers and/or vendors nationally and internationally.
Meet physical demands: lifting up to 25 lb routinely, occasionally >100 lb, handle mechanical parts, exposure to wet/humid conditions, etc.
Education & Certification
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent; 2–4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain passport and credit card.
Read and understand international print symbols.
ISO 9001 & 14001 awareness.
Experience
Ability to use general hand tools.
Skills
Read, analyze, write reports, and present information to managers and customers.
Work with mathematical concepts: probability, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions.
Use word processing and spreadsheet software; use internal service and communication systems.
Positive attitude, clean appearance, willingness to communicate positively; commitment to quality of work.
Seniority Level Entry level.
