Shook Construction JOB PURPOSE: Play a vital role to install, repair, and maintain various types of pipes used in construction projects. You will work closely with the construction team to ensure proper placement, alignment, and connection of pipes for drainage, sewage, water supply, or other utilities. Your expertise in pipe-laying techniques and attention to detail will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects. Reporting Relationships
Position reports to the Laborer Foreman or Superintendent Competencies
Study construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements for pipes. Excavate trenches or holes using hand tools or machinery, ensuring proper depth and alignment. Install and position pipes according to the planned layout taking into account the slope, grade, and elevation requirements. Installation of underground Ductile Iron pipe (MJ, PO, RJ) Installation of Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe Installation of underground PVC/CPVC piping Systems (Storm/Sanitary) Installation of HDPE piping (Fusion) Installation of Flanged DIP/Valves/Pipe Supports Installation of PVC/CPVC systems (interior, chemical systems) Cut, thread, and connect pipes using various methods such as bolting, gluing, or soldering. Install and secure pipe fittings, valves, and other related components. Conduct tests to ensure proper functioning and leak-free connections of pipes. Grading with lasers/builder\'s levels. Setting of Manholes and Catch Basins. Repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning pipes, fittings, or fixtures as necessary. Collaborate with other construction team members to coordinate pipe-laying activities and ensure efficient workflow. Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear at all times. Report any issues, deviations, or concerns to supervisors promptly. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on tasks. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills
None but a plus. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and climb and balance. Must be able to talk, hear, taste and smell and use hands to finger, handle and feel. May need to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. The following are the vision requirements for the job: physical, close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment
