Aerospace Business Unit Rexnord Aerospace supplies high performance spherical and cylindrical bearings, mechanical seals, gears and electrical components to commercial air transport markets. Our products are engineered to meet stringent requirements and are specified in engine systems, flight control systems, landing gear systems and airframe structures. Our global customer base includes major engine and airframe OEMs, tier suppliers and aircraft operators.

Brief Description Train new hires to set up and operate numerical controlled machine tools to perform a wide range of turning, drilling, milling and tapping operations on precision machined components in a work‑cell environment. Reinforce quality and safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.

Key Accountabilities

Work with internal subject matter experts and other partners to determine training content, checklists and SOPs that are practical and interactive.

Be proactive, resolve issues and drive training initiatives independently or within a team environment.

Train new associates in the proper use of materials, machines, gauging and computer systems used to track and record production information.

Review equipment: proper shut down and startup, homing the machines, TPM, 5S protocol, material/mfg. flow within a work center.

Train on proper basic setups including inspection, installation and removal of tooling (i.e., boring bars, drills, inserts, shims, etc.).

Review tooling basics: including insert type, grade, radii and applications.

Train on basic G‑code, program comprehension, speeds and feeds, basic troubleshooting skills including chatter, surface finish issues, and proper offset adjustments.

Review and train on proper gauge setups, usage, and measurements (micrometers, calipers, plate gauges, plug gauges, etc.).

Train on any other determined training content, critical SOPs, etc.

Reinforce “stop, call, wait” procedures.

Review proper scrap management.

Review blueprint reading relevant to the training subject matter.

Review cycle time calculations and how it relates to determining part rate.

Utilize training checklist documentation to record progress with each trainee for maintenance of training records.

Provide regular feedback to Human Resources and Value Stream Managers on training progress.

Ensure that appropriate resources such as equipment and tools are maintained.

Enforce all safety rules and regulations related to training work cell.

Must be willing to be flexible and train new hires assigned to either the Seal or Bearing department based on business needs.

Identify gaps in associate skill levels to determine need for additional training and/or performance management.

Utilize and model teamwork, coaching, problem‑solving, visual management to aid in ensuring training program implementation, follow‑through, and engagement.

Manage multiple new trainees concurrently.

Attend weekly meetings with Manager to provide feedback on trainee learning status.

Deliver feedback to new employees and help prepare them for the production floor.

Function as a mentor or resource for trainees after training completion.

Perform other responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

Previous experience and demonstrated proficiency operating CNC lathe, CNC mill machines, and resistance spot welder (Seal only) with advanced knowledge of machine setup.

Previous experience as a subject matter expert with demonstrated ability to train others in a manufacturing environment.

Good interpersonal skills; ability to train, coach, and mentor new employees.

Ability to stand up to 8 hours and lift items up to 25 lbs.

High school education or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 5–8 years of related experience; knowledge of machining principles and methods for CNC tools.

Shift flexibility preferred.

Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Advanced skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and work instructions in English.

Compensation Based on experience: $32.00–$40.00 per hour.
