Seeking Technical Consultants in O'Fallon, MO Job Title:
Sr. Manufacturing/Dimensional Engineer
Duration:
5 Months Contract
As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, GA Dimensional Engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring that all manufactured parts and assemblies meet precise dimensional specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in dimensional measurement, quality control processes, and the ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models. You will work closely with the design team to design fixtures that are functional, accurate, efficient, and cost‑effective.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dimensional engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
Software Skills: Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and measurement analysis software is a plus
Problem‑Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy. Ability to identify and resolve dimensional and quality issues
Certification in dimensional measurement or quality control (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma)
Experience with advanced metrology tools and techniques
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other quality management systems
Responsibilities:
Blueprint & CAD Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and other design documents to ensure proper measurements and tolerances are understood and adhered to in the production process
Fixture Integration: Understand how fixtures integrate with other manufacturing equipment, robots, conveyors, and tools, ensuring smooth operation across the assembly line
Process Flow and Ergonomics: Design fixtures that align with the assembly line’s process flow, ensuring they’re easy to use for operators and don’t create bottlenecks
Work with cross‑functional teams to recommend, evaluate and make design and process improvement proposals
Work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to develop, validate and incorporate Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements
Collaboration: Provide technical input on design feasibility, manufacturability, and dimensional considerations
GD&T Application: Interpret and apply GD&T standards to fixture design, ensuring that parts fit and function according to precise dimensional specifications
Tolerance Stack‑up Analysis: Evaluate and minimize tolerance stack‑ups in the fixture design, which can affect the final assembly’s quality and performance
