Position Overview We are seeking a
Component Design Engineer
to support design and development activities for
AE- and F-series military engine core components . The candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 3D and 2D models, applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, manufacturable designs that meet performance and reliability goals.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop
rotating and static components
for
core engine systems , including compressor, turbine, and bearing structures.
Create
3D models and 2D engineering drawings
using
CATIA V6
in compliance with DoD standards.
Apply
GD&T
and
Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
principles to ensure producibility and maintainability.
Collaborate with
stress analysis, manufacturing, materials, and quality
teams throughout the design lifecycle.
Support
engineering change management , design reviews, and configuration control processes.
Contribute to
design validation
through analysis correlation and test data interpretation.
Required Skills & Tools
Proficiency in
CATIA V6
and
Teamcenter
for design and data management.
Strong understanding of
GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
and
mechanical design principles .
Knowledge of
Design for Manufacturability
and
Design for Assembly .
Familiarity with
gas turbine engine components
and
military engine standards .
Education
B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
(or related discipline).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing
aerospace propulsion or turbomachinery components .
Knowledge of
metallic and non-metallic materials , coatings, and joining processes.
Exposure to
DoD programs
and
Rolls‑Royce design standards .
Strong collaboration and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams.
