SEC Energy is a single-source provider of natural gas compression equipment, parts and services to all segments of the oil & gas industry. From 50 to 8,000 horsepower, gas, electric or dual drive, SEC is capable of designing and fabricating equipment to meet each customer’s specific operating requirements. SEC also provides production, processing, and treating equipment, and an expansive network of warehouses that service locations across the United States. SEC capabilities expand beyond traditional manufacturing to further include turnkey engineering services, truck-based service technicians, manufacturer parts, and power generation equipment.
Responsibilities
Performs job duties in a safe manner and according to company safety procedures.
Reports potential safety hazards to supervisor immediately and actively participates in resolutions.
Installs and aligns rotating equipment such as compressors, generators and pumps with a variety of drivers such as electric motors, pneumatic motors, gas and diesel engines within manufacturer’s specified tolerances.
Aligns gears, pulleys and other belt driven equipment within manufacturer’s specified tolerances.
Performs piston clearance checks, piston rod run-out checks and balance verifications on rotating equipment.
Measures web deflections, mounting feet deflections and magnetic shaft centers.
Installs machine guards, personnel and equipment protection devices on rotating equipment.
Performs tasks associated with assembly and disassembly of skid-mounted components in a shop environment, including vessels, pipe, pipe supports and structural supports.
Performs pneumatic and mechanical tests on assembled components.
Disassembles components to replace defective parts or to prepare them for shipping.
Uses specialty machinist tools, such as calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, thickness gauges and thread pitch gauges.
Operates pneumatically driven torqueing devices and portable hand, electric and air powered tools.
Operates lifting equipment such as overhead cranes and jib cranes with safe rigging practices for heavy equipment.
Reads manufacturers’ balance and lubrication specifications, shop notes, general arrangement, process flow diagrams and drawings.
Records serial numbers and other pertinent information as required in ITP (inspection test plan).
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all departments and workers; follows oral and written instructions and communicates them to others as needed.
Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision and report problems to line supervisor and participate in resolutions.
Qualifications
Education:
High school education or equivalent (GED).
Experience:
2-4 years’ experience in compression related assembly or field environment.
Skills:
Strong mathematical aptitude; ability to read tape measures, rulers, calipers and machinist tools to increments of .001"; knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures within the assembly department; familiarity with Safety and OSHA requirements.
Physical and Mental Power Mental Power: relies on instructions in terms of what and how work is to be done, as well as why it is done, within established policies and procedures.
Physical Power: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Use of safety equipment including eye protection, hearing protection, and steel toe safety boots is required.
