Overview EMCOR Facilities Services (EFS) serves over 1 billion square feet of commercial space in the United States, offering maintenance, energy‑efficiency upgrades, and facility services across mission‑critical sectors.
Job Summary Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs facility electrical distribution systems, electronics, automation systems, lighting, and related apparatus. Applies the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations, and EMCOR standard practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Install and connect power supply wiring and conduit for lighting, general devices, new machinery, and building equipment.
Troubleshoot and support production controls and automation components.
Diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, variable frequency drives, and lighting fixtures.
Maintain electrical distribution equipment (3‑phase 277/480 VAC, 3‑phase 120/208 VAC, single‑phase 120/240 VAC).
Replace faulty electronic components, printed circuit boards, relays, and control buttons.
Perform maintenance of building lighting, task lighting, parking lot lighting, emergency lights, photoelectric eyes, and lighting contactors controlled by the energy‑management system.
Plan wiring layout, install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings per the NEC.
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical utilities and equipment up to 480 VAC.
Maintain accurate and timely paperwork for all duties.
Keep shop area or service van organized, manage inventory, and maintain tools and calibration equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Successfully completed Apprenticeship Program; must be 21 years old or older.
Business Experience: 5 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
Licenses/Certifications: Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and a valid driver's license.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of low‑voltage systems, fire alarm systems, voice and data systems, motor controls, logic control systems, and basic electrical concepts.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply basic algebra, Ohm’s Law, geometry, and calculate figures and amounts.
Reasoning Ability: Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Demands: Lift 50 lb, climb ladders, walk facility; kneel repetitively; move in 90‑degree angles; work in confined, hot, or high‑noise areas; occasional overtime, holidays, weekends.
Safety Focus

Follow all workplace and trade safety laws, regulations, standards, practices and policies at all times.
