Maintenance Reliability Supervisor

Lead reliability centered support services to the entire mill through the Maintenance Department. The position will develop, implement, and lead predictive and preventive maintenance programs. Identify engineering solutions and improvements in equipment and processes for maintenance reliability. Provide maintenance engineering, technical assistance, and maintenance project leadership and support. This position has direct reports including engineering and maintenance resources. Key Responsibilities
Provide reliability centered maintenance support to the entire mill through the Maintenance Department. Lead predictive technologies initiatives by analyzing equipment history, performing root cause failure analyses, and recommending corrective actions. Provide supervision and leadership for the engineering and maintenance resource teams. Evaluate existing preventive maintenance strategies and recommend changes to optimize asset performance and reduce downtime. Lead a failure analysis team; provide maintenance troubleshooting support. Initiate elemental engineering studies into equipment/process failures and communicate analysis. Gather and examine basic reliability data from field studies or database and correlate the data for analysis using defined engineering techniques. Develop engineering designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates; comply with corporate standards and sound engineering practices. Ensure new and proven technology is implemented. Supervise a skilled crew including Vibration Analysts, Lubrication Technicians, Rebuild Shop Mechanics, and Machinists. Serve as Mill resource for continuous improvement projects and tools. Utilize lean tools (6 Sigma, DMAIC, FMEA, etc.) to lead team efforts in identifying continuous improvement projects. Manage and coordinate outside contractors (sub-contractors) and vendors related to department objectives. Qualifications / Experience
BS in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field of study or equivalent education and experience. Minimum of five (5) years relevant manufacturing/reliability centered experience. Strong personal commitment to workplace safety. Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills across a wide range of mechanical systems. High degree of computer literacy including MS Office. Proficient planning, organization, and time-management skills. Well-developed problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Demonstrated leadership skills. Experience in a paper manufacturing environment is preferred; experience in a union environment is a plus. Safety and team-oriented with a good work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work independently or in a team. Experience with SAP, Excel, Word, PI, and PARCView is desirable.
