J&G Machinery - a division of Würth Baer Supply Company, is seeking an experienced Field Service Machinery Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position primarily servicing the State of Tennessee and Western North Carolina, requiring regional travel to client sites to provide technical support, install, repair, and maintain industrial woodworking machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills with experience servicing and maintaining production equipment such as CNC routers, edge banders, wide-belt sanders, dowel inserters, planers, joiners, and shaping equipment. Geographical Region Served
Primarily servicing the State of Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Jobsite location will be on the road servicing clients. You will not report to a J&G Machinery facility. Compensation

Daily regional driving (typically several hours one way) within the State of Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Routine Mechanical & Electrical Repairs: Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on a variety of woodworking machinery, ensuring all equipment operates according to manufacturer recommendations. On-Site Technical Repairs: Provide on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair services to minimize downtime for customers. Installation & Setup: Install new woodworking machinery, ensuring proper setup and calibration according to manufacturer specifications. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) issues either on-site or remotely. Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent future issues. Electrical System Maintenance: Proficiently work with 480v, three-phase electrical systems, ensuring proper connection, troubleshooting, and repairs to electrical components. Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers regarding machine operation, troubleshooting steps, and provide training as necessary to ensure customers can maximize their equipment. Documentation: Maintain accurate service records and reports for all work performed, including repairs, parts used, and customer feedback. Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including customer service and warehouse staff, to coordinate service appointments and address customer needs. Preferences & Requirements
Mechanical & Electrical Expertise: Significant experience with mechanical repairs and troubleshooting in an industrial production environment. PLC Experience: Experience installing, repairing, or troubleshooting PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) as well as HMI (Human-Machine Interface) is required. Pneumatics: A basic understanding of pneumatics is required. Electrical Drawings/Schematics: The ability to read these types of drawings/diagrams is essential. Electrical Systems Knowledge: Proficiency with 240v, 480v, single-phase, and three-phase electrical systems, including the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical components is required along with associated lockout-tagout safety protocols. Machine Knowledge: In-depth understanding of woodworking machinery, including CNC routers, edge banders, planers, sanders, and joiners, is essential. Maintenance Skills: Ability to perform routine maintenance and setup of industrial machinery to ensure it operates at peak performance. Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and machinery drawings. PC Literate: Comfort with using a computer for service documentation, email correspondence, and troubleshooting support. Customer Service Professionalism: This is a customer-facing role requiring frequent interactions with manufacturers to determine solutions for our customers. Technicians must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to provide friendly and professional customer service to our loyal clients. Physicality: Technicians must be able to safely work in various positions under machines and go a few feet up on ladders as needed. This role requires lifting of at least 65lbs. Willingness to Learn: A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies and advances in machinery as they arise. Valid Driver's License: Must have a clean driving record (due to using a company vehicle) and a valid driver's license for regional travel. 2 to 3 Years Experience Minimum: Degree or Certification in Mechatronics (or similar with a focus on Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance + PLCs) is a must. CNC Machinery experience is a plus. The company will offer on-the-job training and machine-specific training as well. Salaried Employee Benefits Summary

You may also roll over up to 5 days/40 hours of vacation into the next year.
