Assist and support scientific investigation as directed in the Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute; independently conduct assigned experiments. Perform a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including PCR reactions, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures, and Northern and Western analyses. Sort and process tissue and blood samples; test and evaluate current procedures; perform routine procedures on lab animals. Record, consolidate, and assist with analysis of research results; assist in evaluating the validity of data obtained from experimental procedures. Summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepare research progress reports; assist principal investigator with publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts. Conduct library research on requested topics; oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities. Assist with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation. Set up and operate laboratory equipment; monitor research supply, including specimens and inventory, and initiate procurement requests as needed. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree. Additional Information
