The Department of Pathology of Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine is seeking a surgical pathologist to cover our expanding areas of service. Candidates must have an MD degree or equivalent and be AP or AP/CP Board-certified/eligible. Individuals will be required to obtain a medical license in the State of Illinois. Strong diagnostic skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a strong work ethic, are essential. A record or potential for academic and scholarly accomplishments indicating commitment to an academic career is desirable. The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of sub-specialized surgical pathologists handling approximately 35,000 surgical specimens annually. Opportunities for clinical/translational research and multidisciplinary collaboration with investigators of the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center are available. Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system based in Chicago's western suburbs. The system includes Loyola University Medical Center, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, MacNeal Hospital, and other locations offering primary, specialty, and immediate care services. Loyola University Medical Center is a 547-bed hospital with specialized centers and a Level 1 trauma center. Loyola also trains future caregivers through its academic affiliations. Established in 1961, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and MacNeal Hospital are community hospitals with extensive services. Qualifications
