Overview
Genoa Animal Hospital is actively looking for an Experienced Veterinary Technician to join our great team. The ideal candidate must be confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, surgical recovery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood and running bloodwork, have experience with in-clinic laboratory, have knowledge of x-ray and positioning, understand the importance of client education, have experience with proper animal handling and restraint, able to dispense and administer medications prescribed by the veterinarian, and be a positive and supportive team member. Responsibilities
Room patients and assist in surgery and surgical recovery Place IV catheters Draw blood and run bloodwork Operate in-clinic laboratory and perform related tasks Knowledge of x-ray and positioning Educate clients on care and procedures Handle and restrain animals properly Dispense and administer medications as prescribed by the veterinarian Be a positive, collaborative, and proactive team member Qualifications
1+ years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician Knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment Understanding of animal behavior and healthcare Experience with proper animal handling and restraint Passion for working with animals and their owners Ability to multi-task efficiently Ability to work well under pressure Excellent communication and organizational skills Positive and supportive team player Benefits
