About the role: The Medical Outcomes and Science Liaison (MOSL) is a field-based scientific expert within AbbVie's Value & Access department. The MOSL uses clinical expertise and knowledge of managed care, health policy, and pharmacoeconomics to support AbbVie's scientific strategy across the product portfolio and therapeutic areas. The MOSL engages in peer-to-peer scientific and health economic discussions with external healthcare access decision makers (HCDMs) and influencers within US public and private healthcare entities, including managed care organizations (MCOs), specialty pharmacy providers (SPPs), pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), integrated delivery networks (IDNs), accountable care organizations (ACOs), employers, and employee health benefits consultants (EHBCs) within the assigned geography. The MOSL identifies and builds strong relationships with key regional HCDM customers and serves as the primary medical liaison between AbbVie and the customer. Responsibilities: Proactively identify and collaborate with internal and external partners to advance AbbVie's field scientific strategies across the product portfolio. Develop relationships and manage accounts by identifying key HCDMs within each account. Communicate scientific, health outcomes, and health policy information tailored to diverse HCDM audiences. Maintain and enhance expertise in clinical, scientific, and current healthcare landscapes. Communicate and report data observations effectively. Identify and develop scientific opportunities across all managed markets stakeholders within the assigned geography. Collaborate with US Medical Affairs, US Market Access, Global Health Economics & Outcomes Research, and other internal stakeholders. Exhibit peer leadership among internal field medical teams in account management. Anticipate and address population-level scientific, outcomes research, and health policy needs, becoming a trusted scientific advisor while leveraging internal and external resources. Provide clinical and health economic support, including analysis of health technology assessments, to healthcare access decision makers and influencers for AbbVie's therapeutic areas, new products, and indications. Contribute to creating innovative strategies to address customer clinical outcomes and health economic questions, aligning with medical affairs strategies. Participate in therapeutic advisory activities involving both marketed and investigational products across the product lifecycle, partnering with HCDMs and engaging in strategic initiatives. Complete all required training, expense reporting, and administrative responsibilities in compliance with policies and laws.

Qualifications Advanced degree required, preferably M.D., D.O., Pharm.D., or Ph.D. 3-5 years of experience in managed care/PBM, VA/DoD, CMS, State Medicaid, healthcare consulting, pharmaceutical industry, or related fields. Relevant residency or fellowship can substitute some experience. Account management experience is preferred. Required skills include: strong scientific knowledge, impactful communication, active listening, networking, relationship building, influence without authority, business analysis, technical expertise, critical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Ability to work collaboratively within teams and across functions. Adaptability to market changes and challenges, with a high sense of urgency and commitment to excellence. Strong planning and organizational skills. Must meet healthcare industry credentialing requirements to access facilities, including background checks, immunizations, etc. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
