NFI North is a nonprofit providing services to individuals and families with mental, behavioral and emotional health challenges. We run licensed special purpose private schools for students who have experienced trauma or emotional/behavioral challenges. Beacon House School (ages 13 - 19) has immediate openings for Ed Tech III/BHPs. This is a full-time position with a 200-day school year and a six-week extended school year program. Qualifications include Maine Ed Tech III certification and Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification (we will train), plus one year of experience working with youth.
The NFI Ed Tech provides academic and behavioral support: helping students by addressing barriers to learning, collaborating with licensed teachers and preparing teaching materials, collecting data and documenting progress, responding to emotional dysregulation and coaching de-escalation, implementing behavior plans, using trauma-informed strategies, reinforcing social-emotional goals, exercising sound judgment and assisting students to prep for their day. Above all, we support students by providing appropriate and meaningful opportunities to learn and helping them become invested in their own education and vocational preparations.

Responsibilities
