Senior Functional Family Therapist FFT Therapist provides Functional Family Therapy (FFT) virtually to up to 10 families in NYC. Target population: young adults 16‑25 years old, referred after arrest. Pilot program offering FFT to families and youth who might otherwise be incarcerated.

What You’ll Do

Provide virtual and/or home‑based clinical treatment using the FFT model.

Participate in engagement efforts for referred families.

Conduct assessment, review referral information, identify key participants, analyze problem behaviors within ecological context.

Engage youth, primary caregiver, and other key participants in change‑oriented treatment, overcoming barriers to engagement.

Implement problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, outcome review, and strategy revision using the FFT model’s Analytic Process.

Maintain clear documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback and demonstrate compliance with FFT model Analytic Process. Complete progress notes, case openings/closings, and other reporting/case management requirements timely and accurately. Submit progress reports to court or stakeholders when required.

Collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants to ensure buy‑in and cooperation throughout treatment, including regular meetings and reports to stakeholders.

Participate in all agencies and FFT program training, individual supervision, and group consultation activities.

Your Qualifications

Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a field that has professional licensure (Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related).

Experience working with adolescents and knowledge of juvenile justice and criminal justice systems.

Preferred experience and skills with family therapy, behavior management techniques, mental health treatment, including domestic violence and substance abuse issues.

Bilingual in English/Spanish.
