AdventHealth Medical Group West Florida Overview The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of Florida Statutes Title XXXII: Regulations of Professionals and Occupations. Chapter 458. Medical Assistants assist in various aspects of medical practice until the direct supervision and responsibility of a physician. Responsibilities may include patient care management, administrative and clinical procedures. In all practice endeavors the Medical Assistant will adhere to ethical and professional practice. The Role You'll Contribute Assist in patient care management, administrative and clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician. Support patient flow and clinical operations to maintain timely care delivery. Review appointment bookings in advance and provide appointment reminders. Verify and validate insurance prior to appointment dates. Complete check-in process, secure copays and balance amounts. Verify consent forms are completed and up to date. Respond to and manage incoming telephone calls in a timely manner. The Value You'll Bring To The Team Maintain timely flow of patients and keep patients informed of any delays. Reconcile and collect relevant payments at check-in. Ensure coordination of care and communication with the healthcare team.
