Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist - Cardiac Cath Lab - Part Time/Days - Req# 2063924437
Antelope Valley Medical Center is hiring a Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist for the Cardiac Cath Lab. This Part Time/Days role provides technical assistance in the Cardiovascular Laboratory, operates radiologic equipment, and supports diagnostic, invasive, and surgical procedures under supervision.
Responsibilities
Operates radiologic equipment and positions patients for invasive procedures to obtain optimal studies
Operates and positions detectors for fluoroscopy imaging
Maintains optimal performance and safety of radiologic and related equipment
Ensure images are migrated to PACS; perform post-processing as required
Maintain radiologic equipment and supplies; manage lead protection for the cath lab
Track radiation exposure times and contrast totals for each procedure
Perform weekly fluoroscopy equipment quality control
Provide patient care and assist physicians during procedures as scrub personnel
Assist physicians by providing necessary supplies/equipment during procedures
Transport patients to and from the cardiovascular lab
Utilize ancillary equipment used during procedures and participate in patient education
Non-Essential Duties
Answer phones
Schedule procedures and prepare daily schedule
Send films and reports to physicians as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of vascular anatomy and coronary imaging views
Knowledge of contrast media usage and radiation protection
Familiarity with ancillary equipment (e.g., IVUS, FFR, IABP, ECT) and sterile technique
Ability to position patients for radiologic imaging and assist as scrub personnel
Ability to operate digital recording and roadmap systems, image detectors, and angiographic injectors
Ability to set up sterile field for invasive and surgical procedures and assist during procedures

Completion of studies in radiological sciences
Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience
Required Licensure and Certifications
BCLS
Current CRT certification from the State of California, Radiologic Health Section
Current Fluoroscopy Permit from the State of California, Radiologic Health Section
Current ARRT certification
RCIS certification preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work is performed in a normal hospital setting; primarily in a lab
Department operates 24/7; team-based work with lifting, pushing, and standing for prolonged periods
Lead aprons required during procedures
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; radiological studies coursework
Licensure/Certifications: BCLS, California CRT, California Fluoroscopy Permit, ARRT; RCIS preferred
