The Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group therapy sessions for clients in a specialized Outpatient facility. The position involves assessing therapeutic needs, developing appropriate treatment, acting as the primary contact for clients and families, and coordinating care with referral sources and the treatment team. Exemplifies our 5 Star Service to clients, team members, referents, and families. Demonstrates clinical skills in assessing needs, determining interventions, and conducting individual and group therapy sessions. Completes psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans, and other required reports compliant with state and accrediting guidelines. Conducts weekly individual and family therapy sessions for the assigned caseload. Monitors behavioral interventions and provides skills coaching as needed. Conducts specialized groups as assigned; may supervise or co-lead groups with staff or interns. Selects appropriate interventions to meet clinical needs of clients. Maintains therapeutic relationships with clients and sets boundaries in a kind and firm manner. Demonstrates verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care from admission through discharge. Attends weekly clinical, consultation and business meetings; presents cases as assigned. Documents in a timely and accurate manner reflecting ongoing assessment of client presentation and behaviors. Communicates client progress to referral sources, families, or guardians as appropriate. Ensures documentation and reports are completed per policies and procedures. Education and Experience
Position requires a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or psychology. Must hold or be working toward NC licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMHC). Position requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting.
