We are seeking an Auto/Diesel Mechanic for a position in Baton Rouge, LA. The role involves repairing automotive equipment such as trucks, carts, buggies, air compressors, welding machines, cranes, dirt equipment, and trailers. Non‑exempt; reports to Direct Supervisor / Foreman; duties are checked frequently.
Functional Requirements Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various automotive and heavy equipment. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Essential Qualifications
High school or equivalent
Must have own tools and toolbox
Must have 2‑5 years of experience working on GM and Ford vehicles
Must have a valid driver's license and dependable transportation
Need to have a valid TWIC Card or be able to get one
Must have experience with modern automotive scan tools and diagnosis ability
General gasoline and diesel engine knowledge
Ability to diagnose and repair equipment
Organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and work self‑directed and alone at times
ASME certified preferred
Technical training and/or industrial related safety experience
Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
Compensation Final agreed upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
