About the Position Prepares work to be accomplished by studying fabrication instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
Responsibilities
Drill holes and prepare materials according to work orders, fabrication sheets, and schedules.
Complete daily work orders, inspect parts, perform calculations, and measure part sizes.
Ensure parts are fabricated according to prints, worksheets, or shop drawings.
Assemble components, ensuring correct fit, fastening parts, and assembling subassemblies.
Resolve fabrication problems by adjusting dimensions to meet specifications; notify supervisor for additional resources.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, stand, and carry in the warehouse; lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
Occasional lifting, frequent lifting, occasional pushing/pulling.
Lifting force categories: (0‑15 lbs), (15‑30 lbs), (30‑50 lbs), (50‑75 lbs).
Pushing/Pulling force categories: (0‑15 lbs), (15‑30 lbs), (30‑50 lbs), (50‑75 lbs).
Qualification Requirements
Able to take measurements with a standard tape measure.
Basic understanding of the English language preferred.
Able to read and understand work instructions.
Able to use tools such as air power tools, hand tools, drills, small hammers, adhesives, and solvents.
Ability to read, interpret, and understand fabrication blueprint drawings.
Safety
Safety Equipment – Hard hat, back belt, safety glasses, steel toe shoes/boots, cut‑resistant gloves, cut‑resistant outerwear, and other equipment as dictated by the specific department.
Follow and adhere to all safety rules in the plant.
Hazards: Exposure to chemicals/fumes, pinch points, noise, strain/sprain, laceration/puncture, particulate exposure, hot temperatures, slips and falls.
Controls: Personal Protective Equipment, Safety Training, Written Procedures.
