This organization within Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems Sector, Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) is a leading innovator in advanced microelectronics design and fabrication. MDA is seeking a Circuit Design Engineer. This position will serve 100% on-site in Beavercreek, OH. This position will be filled at either the Associate Circuit Design Engineer or Circuit Design Engineer level based on the qualifications below.

Salary information is provided in the job post: Base pay range $67,300.00/yr - $121,900.00/yr. Primary Level Salary Range: $67,300.00 - $100,900.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00. Relocation assistance may be available. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance are required. Travel is up to 10% of the time. The posting window may be flexible depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

Apply your skills as a design engineer while learning about superconducting technology including NG’s patented Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL).

Invent new circuit solutions and topologies utilizing superconducting Josephson Junction devices.

Design, layout and verify custom integrated circuits in NG superconducting technologies.

Work with high-frequency simulation and Multiphysics software tools such as ANSYS (HFSS/Maxwell3D), ADS (Momentum), COMSOL, etc.

Collaborate with subject matter experts, product owners, and other team members to develop, document, and propagate best practices.

Develop execution plans and advocate for the implementation of tools for emerging simulation needs.

Basic Qualifications Level 1

Bachelor of Science STEM degree with 0 years of experience in RF, Analog, or Mixed Signal Circuit design

Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso or similar IC design software

Working knowledge of the IC design flow including schematic capture, simulation, and layout

Strong understanding of RF network and resonator transmission line theory

Understanding of fundamental principles of finite element analysis

Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in simulation tool development, verification, and test result comparison

This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. Citizen

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance per business requirements

Level 2

Bachelor of Science STEM degree with 2 years of experience in RF, Analog, or Mixed Signal Circuit design; or Master of Science STEM degree with 0 years of experience

Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso or similar IC design software

Working knowledge of the IC design flow including schematic capture, simulation, and layout

Strong understanding of RF network and resonator transmission line theory

Understanding of fundamental principles of finite element analysis

Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in simulation tool development, verification, and test result comparison

This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. Citizen

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance per business requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with RF/microwave circuit design and proficiency with ADS suite of tools

Microwave engineering background; understanding of s-parameters and impedance matching techniques

Proficient use of at least one of the following software tools for linear and nonlinear circuit characterization: ANSYS HFSS/Maxwell3D, ADS (Momentum), COMSOL

2D and 3D Electromagnetic modeling experience with tools such as ANSYS HFSS/Maxwell3D, COMSOL, Momentum

Analogue/RF, EMI/EMC PI signal integrity experience

Experience implementing filters and low-noise techniques for noise-critical blocks such as LNAs and mixers

Programming experience with Cadence SKILL or Python
