2D/3D Structural Designer Duration
1 year + renewable contract Duties
Prepare drawings and technical reports. Participate in the development of design standards and procedures. Perform technical review of design documents and specifications. Provide engineering services support to construction activities. Prepare and review design standards and procedures. Prepare construction installation specifications and details. Prepare procurement specifications and perform bid analysis. Review and approve Design Change Forms. Resolve existing design discrepancies using cost‑effective solutions to meet design criteria. Initiate Design Change Forms and coordinate with subcontractors or other responsible groups for approval/incorporation. Provide dispositions to Nonconformance Reports and Field Problem Memos by determining solutions that satisfy design criteria. Perform inspections of facilities, systems, or components as required for proper evaluation of conditions. Review construction procedures to ensure compliance with design engineering criteria and applicable codes. Perform in‑depth analyses of advanced technical concepts and devise new approaches to technical problems. Work Hours
Up to a 40‑hour work week is scheduled. Client utilizes various work schedules including: 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week) 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB) Work week excludes Client holidays. Each workday includes a 30‑minute lunch. Overtime may be required to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager. Required Qualifications – Education & Experience
Education: Associate degree in a technical discipline and at least 10–12 years of work experience, OR 12–16 years of practical work experience. Experience / Skills
In‑depth knowledge of engineering systems, applications, calculations, materials, and construction methods. Proficiency in relevant computer applications. Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to resolve problems identified by construction organizations in a timely manner. Must stay updated on new technologies and hardware in the industry. Other Required Qualifications
Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not required initially. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on work assignments. Preferred Qualifications
Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred. Attachment A

Provide 2D/3D Structural Design staff augmentation support to Client. Primary responsibilities include design development and generation of design output documents, including but not limited to: Concrete buildings and foundations Structural steel for supports, platforms, and buildings Preparation of fabrication drawings Review of vendor documents Commodity supports Design services shall be provided using Client processes and procedures. Required: Minimum 8 years of experience as a Structural Designer. Experience with structural detailing and design of building structures and commodity supports. Knowledge of 3D structural modeling and experience using Hexagon's S3D software. Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards for structural design. Ability to perform field walk‑downs, which may include: Construction sites with uneven surfaces and ongoing work. Walking distances over half a mile. Climbing ladders to access remote areas. Dressing in protective clothing as needed. Ability to produce quality documents with strong attention to detail. Preferred: Previous Nuclear Design Engineering or DOE facility experience. Travel must be approved by procurement via a fully funded requisition and added to the Task Order Authorization. A justification, travel locations, estimated cost, and dates of travel must be provided prior to approval. Client will not reimburse travel to conferences or trainings.
