Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and off‑road trucks. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our equipment operates safely and efficiently on job sites.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy construction equipment.

Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.

Repair or replace defective parts including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.

Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.

Maintain accurate records of all service and repairs.

Operate and test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Adhere to all company safety standards and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic in the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Own a basic set of mechanic tools (company may provide specialized tools).

Ability to lift heavy parts and work in physically demanding conditions.
