REPORTS TO: MEDIUM VOLTAGE OPERATIONS MANAGER
OVERVIEW A Journeyman Electrician or Journeyman with Line card with Medium Voltage Experience directs the tasks of Apprentices and potentially other Journeymen electricians and participates in medium voltage scopes of work. This position can perform all types of electrical work.

Works and climbs on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms
Identifies electrical parts and components
Perform strenuous physical work i.e., digging, kneeling, shoveling, lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing
Keeps up with changing technology
Keeps up with the national electrical code
Wears tools at all required times
Work in all weather conditions
Specific Responsibilities
Plan, layout and perform the Medium Voltage scope of work on projects, examples are:
Terminate
Bolt up
Grounding
Experience in pulling MV Cable
Work with team on energizing and de-energizing Medium Voltage equipment
Trained in confined space and follows all rules required to enter confined space
Understands electrical-line drawings
Other duties as may be assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of:
Medium Voltage switchgear and cable terminations
Cable Pulling Equipment and rigging thereof.
The construction process from scheduling to manpower, materials and equipment required for installation
Constructability and the construction process.
Algebra and geometry
Ability to:
Work in vaults, trenches, tight places, at heights, on ladders
Perform work safely and follow OSHA and NFPA 70e rules and guidelines
Read One-Line
Retain and access critical information from memory
Conceptualize and visualize the project for constructability means and methods
Think on your feet
Understand when to speak and when not to speak
Be Personally detached from ideas (no ego)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lifting, floor to waist (up to 50lbs)
Lifting, waist to overhead (up to 30lbs each arm)
Carrying (up to 50lbs)

Vision acuity (near, far and without color deficiencies)

KneelingTrimming (final installation of electrical devices)
Pushing (up to 100lbs)
Pulling (up to 100lbs)
REQUIREMENTS This position requires a Wyoming Journeyman’s license or Journeyman line card with a minimum of five years’ experience with 1kv through 35kv as well as a certification in Medium Voltage terminations and splices. Must also be willing to travel out of state and acquire additional Journeyman licenses as needed. Work may require nights and weekends per client request. OSHA 30 and CPR/First Aid Certifications preferred.
