Pipefitter 3 role at Zachry Group. Must be able to pass written PF test.
NO PER DIEM OFFERED Job Description This position involves assembling, layout, installation, and maintenance of pipe systems on steam, fluid or gas systems. Pipe systems may include but are not limited to: pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangars, and angles. Work may occur in various locations including buildings, outside, and inside structures (e.g., tanks or boilers), as well as underground areas and at heights up to 300 ft.
Responsibilities
Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
Identify all tools required for tasks.
Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe to specifications.
Install valves, hangars, supports, and flanges inside piping systems according to plans and applicable specifications.
Perform tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and piping systems.
Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
Reports to Position
This position does not have any direct reports; however, the position will work closely with and oversee on occasion helpers and labor positions. The position will hold positional and expertise authority over the helper and laborer positions.
Job Requirements Required Qualifications
Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience.
Ability to read prints and construction drawings.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturer manuals and instructions.
Demonstrate knowledge on the pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components for a combined-cycle power plant.
4+ years' experience with pipe fitting processes.
Good problem-solving abilities.
Good aptitude and manual dexterity.
Good reading comprehension.
Ability to work with others – team player.
Ability to work independently – minimal supervision.
Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.

Formal/technical education
Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting for large portions of the workday.
Basic communication through talking and hearing.
Dexterity to perform precision adjustments of machinery parts and controls.
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
Occasional work at heights, including ladders, stairways, and platforms; heights up to 300 ft with fall protection.
Visual requirements to focus on short and long distances, colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and up to 12 hours per day.
Willingness to wear PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
