Overview
Signal Processing Engineer – Advanced Sensing Systems
– Ann Arbor, Michigan (Onsite preferred, hybrid considered) This is an opportunity to apply your signal processing expertise to cutting-edge sensing technology, where your algorithms will move rapidly from concept to deployment in live operational systems. We’re supporting an international technology company developing advanced sensing and analytics systems used for large-scale, continuous monitoring of physical environments. Their U.S. team is expanding, with new positions focused on real-time signal analysis and autonomous event detection across complex, noisy data streams. 5 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants. This range is provided by IC Resources. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Base pay range
$130,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from IC Resources The Role
You’ll join a collaborative team of scientists and engineers working across physics, data, and AI disciplines. The focus is on designing, optimizing, and maintaining
signal processing workflows
that enhance the visibility and detectability of real-world acoustic and vibrational signatures. You’ll balance research with delivery, developing robust algorithms that run reliably on the edge and support next-generation machine learning models. What You’ll Do
Develop and refine signal processing algorithms to extract and enhance signatures of interest in noisy, real-world data Apply techniques in filtering, spectral and time–frequency analysis, feature extraction, and 2D (image-like) signal processing Design workflows that fuse multiple sensor outputs to improve detection and classification confidence Collaborate with data management and machine learning engineers to build end-to-end pipelines Evaluate workflow performance through quantitative testing and continuous improvement Document and maintain code using modern version control and collaborative development practices What You’ll Bring
A strong foundation in physics, mathematics, or electrical engineering Hands-on experience with digital signal processing for time-series or spatial data Proficiency in Python (NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib) and familiarity with C++ or MATLAB Understanding of filtering, denoising, spectral estimation, and statistical signal analysis Experience developing algorithms that operate under latency or resource constraints Clear technical communication skills and the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams Nice to Have
Experience with acoustic, seismic, or vibration data Familiarity with GPU acceleration (CUDA), Linux, or embedded signal pipelines Awareness of data fusion, classification, or feature-based detection methods Why Join
You’ll work on technology with direct real-world impact, tackling complex signal challenges where your algorithms materially improve operational awareness and detection accuracy. The role combines hands-on engineering with the freedom to innovate, supported by a technically exceptional international team. U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background check are required due to the nature of the work. Details
