General Job Duties / Grade, Utility, and Pipe Foremen
Coordinates and supervises daily activities of a 2–4-person Grade or Utilities crew.
Utilizes heavy equipment to excavate grade and prepare the worksite.
Continually inspects the work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.
Responsible for crew safety. Establishes and maintains a safe work environment that complies with the company safety program.
Analyzes job cost reports to ensure production is within budget.
Reviews and approves employee time reporting, tracks equipment and production.
Must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
Material delivery coordination and recording.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience, Attributes and/or Education Requirements
Minimum 2 years Heavy Civil Foreman Experience — Required.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints.
Shoot grades and understand layout designs and implementation of the same.
Ability to use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels, and transit levels to set appropriate grades for pipe installation.
Ability to adapt and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with applicable standards, including meeting productivity standards.
Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
Capable of entering confined spaces up to 15 feet deep, using ladders or crawling, as required.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
