Overview
Foreman-Earthwork/Pipework role at Edgewood Properties, Inc. in South Plainfield, NJ. This position is part of the Excavation Department. Responsibilities
Oversee, manage and direct Operators and Laborers assigned to the crew, including performing work and assisting the crew. Operate heavy equipment as required to complete assigned tasks. Review and understand plans, details and specifications. Understand production expectations and the impact of production on the overall job schedule and budget. Coordinate with Project Supervisor to ensure all required manpower and proper working equipment and tools are available onsite in a timely manner to complete tasks. Coordinate with Site Supervisor to ensure required materials are available as needed to complete tasks per project schedule. Manage and track materials, obtain receipts, count and check deliveries, and report variations to Site Supervisor. Prepare Daily Reports at end of each day with production notes, issues, inspectors onsite, equipment used, hours, job and cost codes for job costing, equipment issues, maintenance, fueling and repairs, and manpower per task. Be responsible for equipment and tools assigned; report breakdowns or issues to Site Supervisor and shop. Process payroll reports for crew. Ensure site safety, PPE usage, and report accidents to Site Supervisor and office. Conduct toolbox talks. Coordinate activities with other crews, trades and Building Construction Team onsite. Prepare redline as-builts and field notes for work performed. Inspect all work and ensure workmanship and quality; respect work performed by others. Inform crew members of schedule and where to go the following day; report unexcused absences to Site Supervisor and Office. Ensure equipment is staged neatly, and machines and tracks are cleaned. Attend meetings as required. Assist with snow removal and salting operations at existing and new projects. Qualifications
Extensive knowledge in all aspects of site improvements including earthwork operations, sanitary sewer, drainage, water, concrete, paving, utility installation, etc. Experience in Multi-Family, Commercial/Industrial Construction projects. Ability to read and understand project documents including construction drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, cut sheets, survey stakes, etc. Knowledge and understanding of heavy equipment and tools required to perform tasks effectively; general knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective use of computers including Microsoft Office suite. Benefits
