Overview
Growing manufacturer in Saint Louis is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing. Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D CAD is required, with experience designing precision machine parts. Familiarity with machine components including servo motors and gearboxes, linear guides, hydraulic systems and PLCs is a plus. Responsibilities
Design custom hydraulic equipment
Solve complex engineering problems using innovation and mechanical aptitude
Perform structural analysis and testing on machine frames
Manage projects, including interfacing with customers, specifying components for purchase and generating and managing timelines
Participate in startup and commissioning of machinery (10% travel, one week at a time once or twice yearly)
Requirements
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing
Proficiency in 3D CAD software – SolidWorks preferred
Familiarity with machine components including power transmission, linear guides, pneumatic or hydraulic systems, PLCs and sensors
Travel 10% to customers for commissioning – about 2 weeks per year
