General Purpose Supervises activities of regular associates and temporary workers. Assesses production schedules and labor-hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Adheres to company policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Enforces safety regulations. Evaluates and assesses production methods, performances and efficiency for improvements and/or changes. Prepares and administers associate performance evaluations. Determines time and production standards and maintains records. Must have a "can-do", "make-it-happen" attitude. Demonstrates perseverance and initiative to ensure top performance, quality and service to our stores. Responsible for developing and maintaining an open, engaging labor-relations environment which remains issue-free.
Responsibilities
Manage hourly team to ensure timely and accurate processing and distribution of merchandise to stores
Train, assess, motivate, coach, and evaluate associates using the MAP process and established methods
Ensure rapid, accurate movement and processing of merchandise using established methods and standards
Organize and prioritize daily work orders and staffing to meet production goals
Maintain accuracy and quality of work for all regular and temporary associates
Foster an effective team culture and maintain an issue-free environment in a demanding setting
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Area Supervisors, DC Operations Management, and support departments
Conduct daily huddle meetings and coordinate associate training on safety, HR, process orientation, and related topics
Enforce policies and safety regulations; apply appropriate corrective actions and recognize positive performance
Conduct performance, attendance, and behavior discussions in compliance with company policies
Human Resources support: address non-exempt questions about payroll, benefits, policy, and contacts; assist with investigations; administer actions; coordinate accommodations; follow HR guidelines
Maintain DC pay-to-the-punch guidelines and timely missed punch processing for payroll
Partner with Transactional Talent for onboarding, job-posting, and related inquiries
Manage administrative tasks for the area, including time and production records, paperwork, and communication with the Merchandise Manager
Attend and contribute to special projects and events for the team
Qualifications and Skills
BS degree or two years of supervisory experience in a production or merchandising function (preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and prioritization skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work across multiple shifts/departments
Physical Requirements Ability to work in a warehouse environment on concrete floors. Requires standing, walking, typing, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Supervisory Responsibilities Hourly Associates including Checker, Marker, Packer, Material Handler, Splitter, Loader, Unloader, Inductor, and others.
