SALARY : $45,000-$50,000 annually
POSITION SUMMARY : The Police Crime Intelligence Analyst will work out of a Real Time Crime Center. The role involves predicting and preventing crimes, evaluating police strategies, and monitoring ongoing criminal activity. Responsibilities include gathering information from various sources such as police records, surveillance, databases, informants, financial records, communication records, and public sources. The analyst evaluates and verifies information to produce actionable intelligence to assist law enforcement in crime prevention, arrests, and strategic planning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Conduct technical analyses of intelligence data and criminal activity, evaluate and correlate information.
Use reporting and data analysis tools to improve data quality and usability.
Maintain cross-reference files of criminal and case information, and proactively collect data from multiple sources.
Maintain records of violent crimes in SharePoint or other platforms.
Exchange information with other law enforcement agencies.
Analyze information to support investigations, including spatial, statistical, and trend analysis.
Compile, interpret, and report data; produce analytical products like crime maps and suspect profiles.
Communicate intelligence findings to department staff and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain relationships within the law enforcement community.
Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies and the public.
Prepare reports and assist in training other analysts.
Work flexible hours, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS :
High School Diploma required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY :
Perform research and spatial, strategic, tactical analysis.
Prepare technical reports and recommendations based on data.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with ArcGIS.
Ability to work under stress, maintain relationships, and communicate complex data effectively.
Knowledge of law enforcement systems and procedures is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATION :
Preferred: Certification with a recognized crime/intelligence agency such as IACA.
EQUIPMENT : Familiarity with computers and related accessories.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Frequent sitting, walking, talking, and hearing. Occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision and focus required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT : Office setting with occasional fieldwork; potential exposure to graphic/disturbing content; flexible hours may be required.
