The #1 Nissan dealer in both NYC & the country is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused professional to join its championship team! Successful candidates will be high-energy self-starters who are looking to help grow the business, and those who have previous experience within a franchised auto dealership.

This position is responsible for overseeing the service department, controlling costs, setting and obtaining profit objectives, and maintaining service records, all while delivering superb customer service.

Essential Job Functions:

Oversees annual forecasting, and associated strategies. Trains and directs various members of the service team on dealership procedures. Provides timely and accurate reports on all service activities as needed. Develops systems for quality checking each job. Develops standards of customer treatment/service and enforce their use; resolve customer complaints within a timely fashion. Establishes and maintain an organized and updated customer follow and record system. Works with parts department as appropriate to ensure proper stocking of high use parts. Develops monthly service plan for use in conjunction with annual forecast. Generates and maximizes labor and parts sales based on true customer need. Keeps up-to-date on manufacturer warranty and policy procedures, while serving as a liaison with the factory representatives. Meets and exceeds customer satisfaction benchmarks. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School diploma required; college degree preferred. At least 5 years experience in a dealership service department environment. Service management experience preferred. Franchised auto dealer experience a must. Must possess a valid NYS drivers’ license with clean record. Must be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, with the energy and motivation needed to help grow the business both creatively and innovatively.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office. V-Auto experience preferred. Reynolds & Reynolds DMS experience preferred. Ability to meet or exceed Nissan’s district KPI’s. Bilingual; ability to speak Spanish a plus. Superior written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to maintain the highest standards of professionalism when working with customers. Ability to understand and keep abreast of the federal, state, and local regulations that affect operations, as well as relevant OSHA laws/regulations. Must be comfortable managing Departments. Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication. Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. Exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally to: Lift (raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position to position). Standing/remaining upright on the feet frequently. Walking/moving about on feet to accomplish tasks frequently. Visual acuity with or without correction to prepare and analyze data and figures, view a computer terminal, read extensively, operate office machines, and to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned. Driving/moving vehicles between different locations on the premises, as well as from one dealership location to another offsite. The worker is subject to both an office environment, and outside environmental conditions approximately 40% of the time. The worker is subject to primarily normal noise levels.
