We’re seeking a
VDC Coordinator
to join our growing team in
Raleigh, NC . This role plays a critical part in advancing our Virtual Design + Construction (VDC) initiatives—combining technology, teamwork, and precision to bring projects to life before they’re built. The VDC Coordinator is responsible for leading BIM and VDC implementation at the project level, serving as the main point of contact for subcontractors and internal teams, and ensuring all modeling, coordination, and clash detection processes are executed with accuracy and collaboration. This is an opportunity to work on large‑scale commercial projects, partner with innovative teams, and help shape the future of digital construction the Clancy Way.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Lead 3D coordination efforts, including subcontractor model integration, clash detection, and issue resolution.
Facilitate model‑based coordination meetings and manage documentation of identified conflicts.
Create or refine architectural, civil, mechanical, structural, and construction models as needed to ensure full project coordination.
Collaborate closely with clients, architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and Clancy & Theys project teams to promote effective communication and problem‑solving.
Assist in leveraging BIM models for quantity takeoffs, constructability reviews, and RFI creation.
Support the development of new and improved VDC workflows tailored to project‑specific needs.
Prepare presentation materials, visualizations, and 3D models to communicate design intent and construction strategies.
Qualifications / Skills and Knowledge Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in design, 3D modeling, engineering, or architecture (preferred).
Proven experience coordinating MEP/FP systems.
Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Adobe CC, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with CmBuilder, Assemble, or ACC Construction Cloud is a plus.
Strong understanding of construction documents, shop drawings, and design coordination.
Passion for learning and adopting new technology in the construction space.
Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team‑based environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with attention to detail.
