Production Shift Supervisor

MMI Engineered Solutions is looking for a
reliable, motivated, and experienced individual
for the
Shift Supervisor
position. The Shift Supervisor will lead and coordinate production team members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations during their shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production employees, including machine operators, mold setters, inspectors, and assemblers.
Enforce
safety, quality, and sanitation regulations
throughout the manufacturing floor.
Maintain accurate daily records of employee attendance, timecards, and shift production.
Plan and assign work schedules to meet production goals and customer deadlines.
Read and analyze production schedules, work orders, and reports to evaluate output and efficiency.
Support and coordinate
mold setups, changeovers, and material handling
to minimize downtime.
Inspect materials, products, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
Review and verify
process controls
including mold temperature, barrel temperature, cycle time, and material moisture checks.
Oversee setup and operation of injection molding and auxiliary equipment (robots, dryers, conveyors, chillers, etc.).
Train, coach, and evaluate employees; assign work based on training and skill level.
Verify that all operators follow documented processes and quality standards.
Review and communicate shift handoffs, production issues, and quality alerts to ensure continuity.
Identify and correct nonconforming conditions, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Promote a
positive, team-oriented environment
focused on continuous improvement, safety, and accountability.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant production area at all times.
Responsibility for Quality:
Own product quality for your shift - ensuring all parts are produced following documented processes and first article standards.
Communicate any production or process issues that could impact quality to the next shift and management.
Stop production immediately if safety or quality standards are not met and escape as appropriate.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of
supervisory experience in an injection molding environment .
Strong working knowledge of the
injection molding process , tooling, and auxiliary equipment.
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to read blueprints, production schedules, and technical documentation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word);
experience with IQMS a plus .
Solid understanding of mechanical and process principles (vacuum, pressure, temperature, fluid flow, etc.).
Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed to meet production requirements.
Work Environment & Expectations
Fast-paced manufacturing environment that may be hot, noisy, or dusty.
Frequent walking and standing on the production floor.
Hands-on supervision supporting setup and production teams.
Schedule:
Monday–Wednesday 12:00pm–6:15pm, alternating Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday 6:00am–6:15pm.
