SUMMARY: The Quality Control Inspector I assists the Quality organization in verifying product conformance to design and quality requirements. This inspector role focuses on performing basic visual and dimensional inspections, documenting results, and escalating discrepancies to senior inspectors or supervisors. This role supports inspection of incoming parts/material, special orders, and basic quality documentation review, while developing skills in aerospace inspection standards and tools.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform dimensional inspections using standard tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Conduct visual inspections for obvious defects in accordance with documented criteria.
Document inspection results accurately and completely in quality records.
Tag, segregate, and report nonconforming material to senior inspectors or supervisors for disposition.
Assist with review of First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation under guidance from senior inspectors.
Review and verify supplier documentation for completeness.
Follow established safety, quality, and operational procedures at all times.
Maintain inspection tools, gauges, and work area in clean and organized condition.
Support Quality Management System (QMS) compliance activities as directed.
Participate in basic training for GD&T, AS9100/AS13100, and aerospace inspection requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree or 4+ years of on-the-job experience in lieu of education
2+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, assembly, or quality inspection.
Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications (training provided).
Detailed oriented, self-motivated, and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills and ability to use measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must pass documented color and near vision exam.
Eligible to work in the United States under Export Control compliance requirements.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Previous inspection or manufacturing experience, preferably in aerospace or defense.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards.
Exposure to basic GD&T principles.
Experience working in a team environment with focus on quality and safety.
OTHER :
