This role supports and maintains audiovisual infrastructure across all athletic venues, with a focus on videoboard operations and facility systems. It serves as the primary liaison to external partners and works with internal stakeholders to ensure reliable AV assets. The position also assists with football game day parking setup, venue changeovers, and maintenance oversight of assigned athletic facilities. Other duties assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
55% — Facility Operations & Technology: Oversee day-to-day functionality of videoboards and integrated AV systems across Clemson Athletics facilities. Primary contact for installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance coordination with vendors (e.g., Daktronics, Musco, Samsung). Implement preventative maintenance and respond to system failures to minimize downtime during athletic events. Manage relationships with third-party AV and lighting vendors. Support procurement, installation, and repair of facility systems (control rooms, broadcast cabling, lighting integrations). Ensure technology systems are up-to-date and operational for athletic or special events.
20% — Facility Oversight and Maintenance: Primary contact for facility maintenance requests for assigned venues/facilities. Coordinate with university facilities teams and custodial staff to ensure venues are safe, functional, and presentable. Schedule and manage changeovers and special event layouts. Perform off-season maintenance (cleaning, painting, trash/weed removal, pressure washing, repairs). May manage student workers in off-season maintenance.
15% — Facility Set-Up and Transitions: Assist in set-up and breakdown of athletic facilities, including transitions from practice setup to game day setup, or other venue transitions. Includes pre-season prep work.
10% — Game-Day Operations: Assist with setup and breakdown of temporary game day parking lots and coordinate numbering and signage for permanent parking lots on Football Game Days. Direct student assistants through these processes. Attend home football games to address potential issues during the day and game-time operations.
Minimum Requirements
Education — Bachelor’s Degree
Work Experience — 1+ years
Licenses & Certifications — Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Preferred Requirements
Education — Bachelor’s Degree in sport management, engineering, communications, or related field
Work Experience — 2+ years in athletic operations, AV systems management, or venue technology coordination
Licenses & Certifications — OSHA or AVIXA certification

Compensation Information Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.
Essential Personnel Level Essential Level 1 employee. Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations to provide the University’s initial response; some positions may be remote or on-call.
