Position Summary Thales requires a dynamic, forward‑thinking Lean Manufacturing Manager to lead continuous improvement initiatives across production operations in Chanhassen, MN.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Champion lean principles (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, etc.) across all manufacturing processes; lead cross‑functional kaizen events and improvement workshops.

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize workflows and reduce lead times; implement digital tools and Industry 4.0 technologies.

Drive standardization, visual management, and error‑proofing across operations; monitor KPIs (OEE, throughput, scrap rate) and report progress to senior leadership.

Prepare the annual lean budget, including capital expenditure justification and future facilities growth options.

Share best practices and lessons learned with other Thales manufacturing sites.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.

Proven track record of leading successful lean transformations.

Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and digital manufacturing tools.

Demonstrated competence in statistical techniques, data and capacity analysis.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and drafting tools such as AutoCAD.

Hands‑on experience with Value Stream Maps and implementation of future‑state action plans.

Hands‑on expertise with lean tools such as 5S, visual management, waste elimination, standard work, Kanban, and problem‑solving techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or Six Sigma Black Belt.

2‑D AutoCAD and plant layout experience.

Strong understanding of 5S and employee engagement.

Facilitation of Kaizen/Value Stream Mapping, time‑study, takt time charting.

Experience with shop‑floor Kanban, Industry 4.0 facilitation, AMR/AGV/robot implementation.

5–7+ years of lean manufacturing experience across diverse organizations.

Special Position Requirements

Core work hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday‑Friday; occasional visits to support manufacturing operations 24/5.

Physical presence on the shop floor; active participation in 5S activities. Minimum 20% time on shop floor.

Climate‑controlled manufacturing/production area.

Travel: domestic and/or international as required.
