Referral & Appointment Coordinator - OBGYN Office
Summa Health is looking for a Referral & Appointment Coordinator in Akron, OH. This is a full-time, dayshift (Monday - Friday) position with benefits eligibility. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered. Location : Akron, OH 44320 Schedule : Full Time, Days / Monday - Friday, Benefits Eligible Summary : Responsible for organizing and coordinating all components of referrals, testing and related appointment/scheduling or preauthorization requirements, across providers, departments and partnered divisions within Summa Health. Provides support and communicates necessary information to patients, peers and providers regarding status and processes of referrals and appointments. Minimum Qualifications
Formal Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent Post High-School level coursework in healthcare or related field preferred Experience & Training Required: One (1) year of experience in a Medical Office/Registration/Billing setting to include experience with insurance payers, front desk registration duties or related roles (e.g., Medical Assistant, Biller, Registration staff) Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system Computer experience – proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
Ability to manage conversations with third party vendors and insurance payers to assist in timely and accurate services Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in a high-volume medical environment Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail; familiarity with referral software, health plan websites and electronic medical records Ability to work in a team-based environment; strong interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to patient dignity, HIPAA, and medical record confidentiality Demonstrates reliability in attendance and timeliness Ability to interact with diverse patient populations with understanding and respect Able to work in alignment with Summa Health commitments Ability to perform duties in a high-demand setting Physical Demands
Sedentary position with occasional lifting up to ten pounds; prolonged sitting Salary & Benefits
Salary: $19.23/hr - $23.08/hr The salary range is base salary and excludes bonuses or differentials. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
