SAS Sr Category Analyst Job Location: Matthews, NC 28105. Full Time. Salary range: USD $50,800.00 – $63,500.00 per year.

Summary The SAS Sr Category Analyst supports Category Merchandising Teams by developing and delivering reports and analyses on merchandising, pricing, financials, and customer behavior. They collaborate across departments to optimize assortment and meet category and manufacturer goals.

Responsibilities

Achieve deliverables according to brand timelines for assortment creation, partnering with other departments.

Assist Category Managers in tailoring assortment specific to each market, including regional/local items, clusters, and set sizes while following national guardrails.

Report data errors and provide assortment analytics to supporting departments.

Assist category managers in understanding store space limitations and develop innovative solutions to meet company objectives.

Monitor store scanning and continually evaluate steps for improvement, including POS‑reset analysis.

Supervisory and Travel Requirements Supervisor: None. Indirect reports: may have guidance or mentoring responsibilities. Travel not essential.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

4–6 years of experience with planograms or floorplans.

Experience with analysis in a professional setting.

Experience in merchandising a plus.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of industry products and space‑planning processes.

Effective collaboration across departments and customer teams.

Deadline‑driven, highly organized, reliable, and detail‑oriented.

Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Environmental & Physical Requirements Office/sedentary work. Must sit for extended periods, input data, and lift up to 10 lbs.
