(HELIX), a growing, employee-owned California-based environmental consulting and planning firm, is seeking a team-oriented and motivated

Sr. Biology Project Manager

with critical thinking skills and a strong work ethic to join our Northern California team. This position will focus primarily on project work in the Central Valley or Bay Area of California. The position would be assigned to our Roseville or Folsom Office but will primarily be remote. HELIX provides biological, CEQA/NEPA, cultural resource management, habitat restoration, regulatory permitting, environmental compliance monitoring, acoustics and noise control, GIS, and air quality and greenhouse gas services to both the public and private sectors.

The Senior Biology Project Manager may conduct biological fieldwork occasionally; however, primary responsibilities are not fieldwork-related. The ideal candidate should have strong communication, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on developing solutions, building relationships, and fostering collaboration. Flexibility and adaptability are essential.

Responsibilities:

Manage biological resources-related projects, from small to complex, requiring expertise in local and regional biological resources and regulations

Lead daily project management tasks including client management, team coordination, scheduling, quality assurance, budgeting, and reporting

Prepare technical reports, impact analyses, mitigation measures, and compliance documents for various projects

Lead permit applications and negotiations with resource agencies, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations

Participate in business development activities, including proposals and interviews

Mentor and train less experienced team members

Pay range is approximately $115,000 to $140,000 annually, based on experience, with a comprehensive benefits package.
